let us give you
a little background
Amanda is a degree qualified Naturopath (Bachelor of Health Science), registered with the Naturopaths and Herbalists Association of Australia (NHAA), and practicing on Chevron Island, Gold Coast. Amanda feels privileged to support clients to reach their full potential and to improve their quality of life. Amanda has personally experienced the benefits of naturopathy in her own health improvement, which drives her desire to help others. She delivers compassionate naturopathic care, and seeks to understand the unique needs of her clients. With their permission, Amanda digs deep into current and past contributing factors to uncover the root cause of the client’s current health concerns. She then provides realistic and individualised support to achieve their desired health goals.
Amanda does not follow a specific ‘diet’ or protocol, and she does not subscribe to absolute ‘rules’ about health. Amanda encourages clients to expand their current understanding of ‘health’ and to consider how their amazing and complex body is responding to their current way of living, thinking and moving. Amanda works with each client to uncover their motivations for change, and together they develop a personalised and achievable plan to feel better.
Amanda’s mission is to simplify health for YOU. If you want big change, we will go there. If small incremental change is your thing, that’s how we will do it.
Change can be difficult, and rewarding. And it’s definitely worth it.
naturopath versus other health professional?
no way! we are a team and we can all work together
Health is a major area of concern for many people. A loss of health is life changing. It is true that many people are living longer, however chronic disease can impact on the quality of our years, placing financial and emotional strain on families and communities. We aim for prevention, and we support your better health no matter how you feel right now.
For too long, there has been an ‘us’ versus ‘them’ mentality in the health industry. Where conventional medicine was seen as the opposite of naturopathic or ‘alternative’ health. Of course, in an emergency situation you should get yourself to a hospital quick smart! In chronic disease, however, there is a vast and exciting potential for active integration and cooperation between doctors and naturopaths. The truth is, that most doctors have limited time to spend with their patients to discuss the countless factors that may contribute to chronic disease. Hollstein Naturopathics is on a mission to support clients in the prevention and management of chronic diseases. We get to know you and consider all of the known factors that relate to your current state of health. We work with your current health team to help you to feel better.
Naturopathy is a system of health with a focus on identification and treatment of the underlying causes of illness and disease. The core principle of ‘healing through nature’ guides the naturopath’s use of a range of therapies including nutritional counselling, herbal medicine, therapeutic supplementation, manual therapies, flower essences, and lifestyle modification.
Naturopaths trained under a Bachelor of Health Science have studied anatomy and physiology, pathology, pharmacology, clinical examination, nutritional biochemistry, and herbal medicines over four years, and have participated in at least 650 hours of supervised clinical practice. All Naturopaths practicing under a professional organisation are bound by the strict professional and safety codes of conduct of their association, and are required to hold professional indemnity and public liability insurance, and to actively participate in continuous education and mentorship.
Naturopaths possess the unique ability to integrate scientific evidence with clinical experience and the time-honoured traditional knowledge of naturopathy and herbal medicines. Patients can expect a safe, confidential and empathic listening space to share their story, along with encouragement and support to foster personal change and health improvement.
